Le projet // The project
Le projet se déroule à Baia Mare et ses environs. Il s'agit d'une ville du nord / ouest de la Roumanie, avec 150
000 habitants. C'est la capitale du Maramures et elle doit son essor à l'exploitation minière, d'or et d'argent notamment. Baia Mare est multi ethnique, avec une majorité de hongrois (15%), de
Roms (1,5 %), d'allemands (0,3%), d'ukrainiens (0,25%) et de juifs (0,04%).

Ce SVE se déroule au sein de la YMCA de Baia Mare. Cette ONG à but non politique et non
lucratif a été fondée
en 2001 selon la législation roumaine. Elle est en lien avec le mouvement national des YMCA et avec la fédération des ONG du Maramures. Le but de la YMCA de Baia Mare est de développer la socièté d'aujourd'hui en donnant plus de pouvoir aux jeunes, en
consolidant les communautés et en apportant un soutien aux familles selon des principes de démocracie et de droits de l'homme. YMCA met particulièrement l'accent sur la promotion des valeurs
démocratiques, en étant basée sur la multiculturalité, le pluralisme, le développement d'une société civile et sur l'implication des citoyens dans la prise de décision.
Les programmes et les projets de YMCA offrent formations, services civils, camps, sports, ateliers et cours, échanges internationaux, centre de jeunes, festivals, projets environnementaux, projets d'inclusion sociale avec des enfants Roms, campagnes de recrutement, création d'un magazine en ligne pour les jeunes "Youth Voice" et club pour enfants.
Mon SVE commence officiellement le 18 Janvier 2010 et finira 9 mois plus tard !
Le travail se déroulera au sein du centre Y4U de YMCA Baia Mare, qui présente trois départements :
- La recherche
- La logistique
- Les relations publiques
Plus concrètement, il s'agira de travailler :
- Dans le club pour enfants (enfants de 5 à 12 ans) : organiser, mettre en pratique, apporter de nouvelles idées pour des jeux, de la musique, des travaux manuels, de la danse, des sciences ludiques, de l'anglais, du dessin et des histoires contées ;
- Au sein du projet d'inclusion sociale "Friendship camp", auprès de 50 enfants Roms et/ou très pauvres âgés de 7 à 14 ans, afin de faciliter leur intégration avec les autres enfants ;
- Au bureau, entre autres, pour les tâches quotidiennes (aider à élaborer les projets/les mettre en oeuvres/trouver les fonds/les évaluer), les réunions d'équipe, les formations extérieures, la participation aux festivals et aux meetings, l'organisation des échanges nationaux et internationaux de jeunes ;
- Pour le magazine en ligne "Young Voice", en écrivant des articles et en coordonnant des projets ;
- En écrivant un blog pour raconter mon expérience SVE, en promouvant le SVE et les Programmes Jeunesse en Action ;
- En aidant à l'atelier artistique Ten Sing (chant, danse et théâtre) et à un atelier de Basket-ball.
L'emploi du temps prévoit aussi 4 h de cours de roumain par semaine et des rencontres hebdomadaires avec un mentor.
Je serai logée dans une auberge de jeunesse, en colocation, avec ma propre chambre.

The project will take place in Baia Mare and in the surrounding areas. It's a north / west town of Romania, wich
counts 150 000 inhabitants. It's the capital of Maramures and it grow thanks to its mines, notably of gold and silver. Baia Mare is a multi-ethnic, with a hungarian majority (15%), Romas (1,5%),
germans (0,3%), ukranian (0,25%) or Jew (0,04%).
This EVS will be in the YMCA of Baia Mare. This NGO is a non-governmental, non-political and non-profit organization constitued in 2001 according to Romanian legislation. It is co-founder of the national YMCA movement and of NGO's from Maramures County. The goals of YMCA Baia Mare are to develop nowadays society through empowerment of youth, consolidating communities and supporting families according to the principles of democracy and human rights. In these activities there is a special emphasis on promoting democratic values and basis for multiculturality, pluralism, development of civil society and citizen's involvement in decision taking.
The main programs and projects are focused on youth needs and provide: trainings, civil services, camps, sports workshops and classes, international exchanges, workshops, youth center, festivals, environmental projects, social inclusion project-working with roma children, recruitment campaigns, creating an youth online community magazine -”Youth Voice“, Kids Club.
My EVS officialy begins the 18th of January in 2010 and will end nine months later !
The work will be lead in the Y4U center of the Baia Mare YMCA. There are three departments :

In more concrete terms, I will work :
- In the kids club (children from 5 to 12 years old), to organise, put into practice, bring new ideas for games, music, manual jobs, dance, play sciences, English, drawing and narrated stories;
- Within the plan of social inclusion " Friendship camp ", with 50 children Roms and/or very poor from 7 to 14 years old, to make their integration easier with other children ;
- In the office, for the daily tasks (to give the projects rise / manage them / find the fonds / assess them), the team meetings, the external trainings, the participation in festivals and in meetings, the organisation of national and international exchanges of young people ;
- For the online magazine "Young Voice", by writing articles and by co-ordinating plans ;
- By writing a blog telling my EVS experience, by promoting EVS and Youth in Action Programs ;
- By helping to the artistic workshop Ten Sing (song, dance and theatre) and to a Basketball workshop.
The timetable also envisages 4 h per week of Romanian's courses and weekly meetings with a mentor.
I will be lodged in a youth hostel, with my own room.
