Les démarches // The process

After a lot of researches, I have decided to do the European Voluntary Service. I began the process in June 2009. I began by contacting the french Etudes et Chantiers (UNAREC) association because I had already participated to international workcamps thanks to it. Then, they accepted to become my sending organization.
After, in July, I reaserched in the EVS data base the projects I was interested in. After hours and hours of reading, thinking and sorting (sometimes it was enough to make me tear my hair out because it was english compact blocks !!), I sent CV and motivation letter to nearly 30 host associations, all around Europe, particularly in est Europe, north Europe and in Spain, during the end of July.
I directly received negative answers and not delivered messages. But only some days after, in the begining of August, I received an answer from the romanian YMCA Baia Mare association, telling me that I was preselected. I used to be really surprised to received a postive answer so quickly ! Next, I spent the all week end to think about and to research informations about Romania and the project before confirming them I was still interested.
Later, with the sending and the host organization, we had to agree on the begining date, the duration, etc... During this time, I have been frightened several times that this project would be brought down ! My sending organization have helped me during the process to present my file before the 1st September deadline for asking the european agreement.
After, a very long and stressfull waiting time (during this time, I sent again CV and motivation letters to other associations in the case I would not have got the european agreement !), before receiving, in the middle of October... the european agreement ! :))
Since this time, I am preparing the departure, obsessed by this imminent EVS (departure in the midle of January) !! In the program, handing my resignation, no more flat, administrative process, flat tickets, etc...
